initial interview and receive a positive recommendation from the College Director, Student Administrator, or Admissions Representative.<\/li><li>Have a fair understanding of the English language.<\/li><li>Prospective students must be Grade 12 graduates, or equivalent, or have Mature Student status (18 years of age in Ontario), subject to the discretion of the College Director.<\/li><li>Mature Students and those unable to provide proof of Grade 12 graduation must complete an Entrance Examination to properly assess their strengths and weaknesses.<\/li><li>Applicants for Technical Diplomas, Registered Certificates, and Medical Training programs will also be evaluated on specific criteria and testing, depending on the program selected.<\/li><li>Students must be able to work with an individualized learning system.<\/li><li>International students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents must obtain a Study Permit with their Visitor Visa from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.<\/li><li>Applicants must read and certify that they have received and reviewed the College\u2019s policies and procedures, including updates, inserts, and the Failure to attend according to contracted hours of instruction per week may result in withdrawal from the program. A copy of the Sexual Violence Policy will be provided to all career college Instructors, Learning Coaches and any other staff and training them about the policy and its processes of reporting, investigating and responding to complaints of sexual violence involving its students will occur. *Any company participating in offering student internships on their premises must provide an undertaking in writing that it is in compliance with all applicable legislation, including the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and will provide students access to those policies should they encounter issues relating to sexual violence in the workplace.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e7c75c3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e7c75c3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(b) The complete Sexual Violence Policy shall be published and posted in the campus lunchroom. Additional copies can be provided upon request.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-219b0cd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"219b0cd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(c) If students, in good faith, report an incident of, or make a complaint about, sexual violence, they will not be subject to discipline or sanctions for violations of the career college\u2019s policies relating to drug or alcohol use at the time the alleged sexual violence occurred.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-48b2349 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"48b2349\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(d) Students who disclose their experience of sexual violence through reporting an incident of, making a complaint about, or accessing supports and services for sexual violence, will not be asked irrelevant questions during the investigation process by the career college\u2019s staff or investigators, including irrelevant questions relating to the student\u2019s sexual expression or past sexual history.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-78dee4e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"78dee4e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(e) Any person subject to, or witnessing incidents of, or complaints of, sexual violence will report to the Campus Director, Roshni Patel, <a href=\"mailto:roshni.p@aolccollege.ca\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">roshni.p@aolccollege.ca<\/span><\/a>, +1 (905) 306-0666\u00a0upon becoming aware of them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0ac5bea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0ac5bea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(f) Subject to Section 4 below, to the extent it is possible, Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West, will attempt to keep all personal information of persons involved in the investigation confidential except in those circumstances where it believes an individual is at imminent risk of self-harm, or of harming another, or there are reasonable grounds to believe that others on its campus or the broader community are at risk. This will be done by:<br \/>\u00a0 (i) Ensuring that all complaints\/reports and information gathered as a result of the complaint\/reports will be only available to those who need to know for purposes of investigation, implementing safety measures and other circumstances that arise from any given case; and<br \/>\u00a0 (ii) Ensuring that the documentation is kept in a separate file from that of the Complainant\/student or the Respondent.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-30262ec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"30262ec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(g) Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West recognizes the right of the Complainant not to report an incident of or make a complaint about sexual violence or not request an investigation and not to participate in any investigation that may occur.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-07d2fed elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"07d2fed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(h) Notwithstanding, in certain circumstances, Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West, may be required by law or its internal policies to initiate an internal investigation and\/or inform police without the complainant\u2019s consent if it believes the safety of members of its campus or the broader community is at risk.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d79d840 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d79d840\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(i)In all cases, above, Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West will appropriately accommodate the needs of its students affected by sexual violence. (ii) Determine who should conduct the investigation having regard to the seriousness of the allegation and the parties involved; (iii) Determine whether the incident should be referred immediately to the police; (iv) In such cases or where civil proceedings are commenced in respect of allegations of sexual violence, Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West, may conduct its own independent investigation and make its own determination in accordance with its own policies and procedures; and\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 (i) Determine whether an investigation should proceed and if the Complainant wishes to participate in an investigation;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (ii) Determine who should conduct the investigation having regard to the seriousness of the allegation and the parties involved;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (iv) In such cases or where civil proceedings are commenced in respect of allegations of sexual violence, Academy of Learning Career College, Kingston \/ Mississauga West, may conduct its own independent investigation and make its own determination in accordance with its own policies and procedures; and\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(v) Determine what interim measures ought to be put in place pending the investigation process such as removal of the Respondent or seeking alternate methods of providing necessary course studies.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0a72d87 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0a72d87\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>(c) Once an investigation is initiated, the following will occur:\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 (i) The Complainant and the Respondent will be advised that they may ask another person to be present throughout the investigation;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (ii) Interviewing the Complainant to ensure a complete understanding of the allegation and gathering additional information that may not have been included in the written complaint such as the date and time of the incident, the persons involved, the names of any person who witnessed the incident and a complete description of what occurred;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (iii) Informing and interviewing the Respondent of the complaint, providing details of the allegations and giving the Respondent an opportunity to respond to those allegations and to provide any witnesses the Respondent feels are essential to the investigation;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (iv) Interviewing any person involved or who has, or may have, knowledge of the incident and any identified witnesses;\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (v) Providing reasonable updates to the Complainant and the Respondent about the status of the investigation; and\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 (vi) Following the investigation, the Campus Director, Roshni Patel, will:\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7167cec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7167cec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u2013 Review all of the\u00a0 evidence\u00a0 collected during the investigation;\u00a0<br \/>\u2013 Determine whether sexual violence occurred; Have a fair understanding of the English language. Prospective students must be Grade 12 graduates, or equivalent, or have Mature Student status (18 years of age in Ontario), subject to the discretion of the College Director. Mature Students and those unable to provide proof of Grade 12 graduation must complete an Entrance Examination to properly assess their strengths and weaknesses. Applicants for Technical Diplomas, Registered Certificates, and Medical Training programs will also be evaluated on specific criteria and testing, depending on the program selected. Students must be able to work with an individualized learning system. International students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents must obtain a Study Permit with their Visitor Visa from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Applicants must read and certify that they have received and reviewed the College\u2019s policies and procedures, including updates, inserts, and the Enrolment Application and Contract. Some programs may require additional entrance requirements or prerequisite courses. Attendance Students are required to meet attendance obligations as outlined by their funding sources and schedules. Failure to attend according to contracted hours of instruction per week may result in withdrawal from the program. Books and Supplies Academy of Learning Career College\u2019s Integrated Learning System\u2122 programs are delivered using workbooks, audio instruction, and original software. Credit for Previous Learning \/ Challenge Exams Credit for prior education or training may be granted if a student successfully passes a challenge exam, demonstrating acceptable proficiency in specific skill areas. Academic Progress Requirements Each course requires the completion of individual exams before students may proceed to the next course. A minimum passing percentage is prescribed by the Academy of Learning Career College. To graduate, students must achieve an overall program average of 75%. Students who achieve an average of 90% or higher will be awarded Honours status. All marking schemes and procedures are governed by strict guidelines set by Skills Advantage Inc. Learning Coaches\u00a0 Academy of Learning Career College employs qualified Learning Coaches to facilitate student training.\u00a0 Fees\u00a0 All course materials are included in program fees. Refresher Privileges\u00a0 Graduates are welcome to return to their College after completing their program to refresh or review course materials, provided they have passed the course and the College continues to offer the same version. If a student falls behind schedule, they will be expected to study for additional hours in order to get back on track to remain compliant. Transfer Policy\u00a0 Students must complete their program at the College identified in their enrolment contract. If a student wishes to transfer to another Academy of Learning Career College, they must submit a written request to their current College in advance.
